Argentina standing out in Football and being a hub for advertising creativity is not a secret, but, up until today the WFS Industry Award for the Most Creative Campaign presented by El Sol was.
After valuing the finalist candidacies, the expert’s panel has decided to award the campaign “Uplifted Alex”, created by Mercado McCann for Coca-Cola. This is the second WFS Industry Award 2019 which goes to Argentina after the Best Club Commercial Initiative one, obtained by Racing Club. The candidature was competing against “My spare boot” campaign by Havas Tribu for the Costa Rican Amputees Football Association, and “Romeo and Julio”, created by Shackleton for Uber.

The campaign was the first-ever in-game advertising spot for use in external marketing platforms
“Uplifted Alex”, launched during 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, merged both virtual and real-world in order to create Coca-Cola’s first-ever in-game advertising spot for use in external marketing platforms: EA Sports FIFA18. Football star Alex Hunter, who turned into the brand’s first virtual ambassador, reached football’s top by signing a contract with Coca-Cola and being the protagonist in the commercial.
This spot was released on the Coca-Cola giant screen in Times Square, New York.
During the first week FIFA18 sold over 6 million sales on the first week.
The WFS Industry Award to the Best Supplier presented by SportsTechX has been awarded to Eleven Sports Media, a company that distributes data aimed to increase fan engagement at the stadiums and on social media. Eleven Sports Media outvoted ThermoHuman, a company specialized in the use of infrared thermography to monitor football players and prevent injuries, and StatsBomb, a performance analytics and data provider which processes games across more than 25 European and American leagues.
Thanks to StatTV, Eleven Sports Media is the only company in UK providing live and up-to-the-second game analysis and statistics directly into the heart of matchday experience. This innovative content now achieves a wider reach with StatTracker, taking those clubs stats across the globe via social media.

The WFS Industry Awards have been awarded since 2017 in the World Football Summit’s scenario, the international event within the football industry which gathers every year in Madrid the main leaders of clubs, leagues, federations, organizations and reference firms. The best jobs within the different professional areas linked to the sector are awarded. In its track record, big names such as Giuseppe Marotta, Gustavo Silikovich, the Wanda Metropolitano, MasterCard or Iberdrola stand out.
After unveiling the Most Creative Campaign and the Best Supplier winners, only two more award winners are left: Best Executivepresented by Nolan Partners and Best Venue presented by Mondo Stadia. These two winners will be announced on September 19th.
