World Football Summit and Microsoft have renewed their agreement by which the worldwide leading technology brand will be the Industry Partner for WFS 2019, to take place in Madrid on September 24th and 25th.

Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and hardware that deliver new opportunities, greater convenience, and enhanced value to people’s lives. In sports, Microsoft’s ambition is to lead the digital transformation of the Sports industry, in a mobile-first, cloud-first world. In this age of global sports brands and social media connectivity this technology is creating new ways of engaging with fans through stimulating appetite for current content and a closer, personal relationship with their favorite teams, players and events.Microsoft Sports is a partner for some of the most important stakeholders across the industry, like Real Madrid, LaLiga, the PGA Tour, NASCAR or the NFL. Tools like the Microsoft Digital Sports Platform, Microsoft Dynamics or the Sports Performance Platform, are empowering a new era for the sports business.

As an important stakeholder for the industry, Microsoft has been involved with WFS since its first edition. Last year, Sports Business Development Architect, Jesús Serrano, presented a very insightful panel on Intelligence and Augmented Reality Applied to Fan Engagement in which he showcased some of the Apps that Microsoft has developed for the industry over the last few years, including LaLiga Assistant in Action.

Jan Alessie, director of World Football Summit, expressed his delight with the extension of the partnership between both brands. “Microsoft’s job during the last few years has helped take the sport to another level. At WFS we aim to be a platform that contributes to the growth of the industry and we have a strong focus towards innovation and technology, so Microsoft is an ideal partner for us”, he said.
