Since 2015, Emilio Fernández del Castillo is the head of LaLiga’s Technological Protection of Content Department, men´s top professional football division of the Spanish Football league system. In addition to fighting against audio-visual piracy in Spain, the content protection team has set up unique collaborations with other national institutions like the Ministry of Culture and Sports (Spain), international competitions as Pro League (Belgium) or international institutions as INDECOPI (Peru), providing them customised support through tools and software developed by them.

Next challenges of this innovative department are more software developments and more partnerships to come.

Likewise, Emilio Fernández del Castillo held the position of Digital Metrics Manager at LaLiga for close to a decade (2008 – 2018).
