Javier is a retired futsal player and coach, and is currently the President of the Spanish Futsal League. In 1992 he became manager of the Spanish National Futsal Team and won the European Cup in 1996 as well as reaching the final of the World Cup that same year. Spain then went on to win the tournament in 2000. After his time managing Spain, he went on to work at Real Madrid and became their academy director. Since 2009 he has been President of the LNFS.
