Raquel Braun
Raquel Braun is Senior Director of Business and Legal Affairs at FOX Sports in Los Angeles. Braun’s practice focuses on sports production, including managing high-profile talent negotiations, advising business clients on production operations and strategy, and overseeing production-related agreements for FOX Sports’ premier properties – FIFA World Cup, the National Football League (including its recent addition of Thursday Night Football), Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer. She has also worked closely with FOX Sports executives on rights acquisitions for FOX Sports’ national sports networks in the United States, as well as the negotiation and acquisition of rights to major U.S.-based sports properties for FOX Sports’ international channels. Earlier this year, Braun was charged with overseeing on-the-ground business and legal affairs matters in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, as well as providing operational support and guidance in connection with FOX Sports’ production of the tournament.
Braun received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.S. in Sports Management (minor in Business Administration), with honors, from the University of Florida. In addition, she holds a certificate in Management Development from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to joining FOX Sports in 2011, she served as a project clerk at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and worked with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Basketball Association, and the Washington Nationals.
Braun is an elected member of the Georgetown University Board of Governors, serves as the Co-Director of the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance (GEMA) in Los Angeles and is President of the GEMALaw Board. She also serves as a Founding Board member of Women of FOX Sports, an employee-led organization, and is a member of the recently launched Rising Executive Committee at the University of Southern California’s Sports Business Institute. She is frequently invited as a guest lecturer at universities across the United States and as a panelist at industry-related events and conferences.
