Tanya Fickenscher

Tanya is Vice President & Deputy General Counsel for Major League Baseball. She joined MLB in 2015, and manages the Intellectual Property/Quality Control teams that are responsible for the maintenance and protection of MLB’s, and its 30 Major League Clubs’ and 120 Minor League Clubs’ global IP portfolios. Tanya began her legal profession in private practice and then joined Bristol-Myers Squibb, ultimately leading that organization’s Trademarks department. In 2011 was named head of the Trademarks department at Sandoz International global headquarters. Ms. Fickenscher earned a B.A. in English at Georgetown University (1993) and a J.D. at William and Mary Law School (1999). She has been an active member of the International Trademark Association, serving on numerous Committees over the last 15+ years. In addition, she currently co-Chairs the IP Subcommittee under the Sports Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association. She is also the proud mom of two teenaged boys.
