Ronaldo Nazario, the presidents of LaLiga, AFE, Juventus, the 49ers, and the CEO of Dorna are speakers at the third edition
Wanda Metropolitano, Valencia CF, and the General Directors of Real Madrid, City, and Juventus are among the nominees of the WFS Industry Awards
Madrid, September 10.- The third edition of World Football Summit (WFS), the global congress of the football industry, to be held on September 24th and 25th at the Teatro Goya in Madrid, will once again bring together a top level panel of speakers that will debate the present and future of a sector that takes up 0,7% of the Global GDP.
The football industry, in its different facets, will be analyzed by experts in a must-attend forum for professionals who want to know the latest trends of the industry that generates continuously increasing revenues through television, marketing, and merchandising rights, and carries on rising in the sports, leisure, and entertainment industry rankings.
Nearly 2,300 professionals and representatives from 160 different clubs, federations, and leagues from 95 countries have already been confirmed for the two days. The program includes presentations from the president of the Association of European Clubs (ECA) and Juventus, Andrea Agnelli, one of the clubs of the moment in the continent after the recent signing of Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, which has revolutionized the Italian League.
Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, will also pass through WFS Main Stage, among others; Ramón Rodríguez «Monchi», sports director of AS Roma; the presidents of the Argentine and Colombian leagues, Mariano Elizondo and Jorge Enrique Vélez; AFE president David Aganzo, former Argentine footballer Jorge Valdano, Santos president, Flamengo and Benfica CEOs, Bruno Spindel, Domingos Oliveira; and the CEO of Dorna, Carmelo Ezpeleta.
The Main Stage will also host the executive director of the Organizing Committee of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Alexey Sorokin, architect of the success of the general organization and especially, the level of security exhibited throughout the tournament, with the implementation of innovative measures such as the FAN ID.
Prestigious speakers and topics of interest will be ongoing throughout the two days. Thus, alongside current events, such as the recent acquisition of Real Valladolid, whose plans will be explained by its main shareholder, Ronaldo Nazário, will be followed by more global ones such as financial fair-play, Club-states, the new regulations on player transfers, and new technologies as business development tools.
Subjects will be discussed by experts in marketing, international and sports law, such as the head of the FIFA legal department, Emilio García Silveiro; Al Guido, president of the San Francisco 49ers; and those responsible for the relevant areas at Microsoft, Facebook, LaLiga, Everis, Rakuten, and Kosmos Holding.
THE IMPACT OF WOMEN´S FOOTBALL AND THE WFS INDUSTRY AWARDS
The increasing power of women in sports in general, and in football more specifically will also be discussed at the third edition of WFS. The difficult path traveled, the struggle undertaken by some, to the point of turning them into authentic heroines, will have their voice in the form of testimonies from Khalida Popal, former female captain of Afghanistan; Fatuma Adan, founder and executive director of HODI; and Hope Solo, former goalkeeper of the USA women’s team.
WFS will once again recognize the work of personalities and institutions that have stood out in the promotion and development of the football industry. The Wanda Metropolitano, host of the next Champions League final, the general director of Real Madrid, José Ángel Sánchez, Manchester City, Ferran Soriano, and Juventus, Giuseppe Marotta, Valencia CF, and the energy company Iberdrola, for their support of the Women’s League, are among the nominees.
After 120 nominations from 23 different countries were submitted, and 21 nominations were selected from the 7 categories, the winners of this edition of the World Football Summit Industry Awards will be announced at the ceremony that will take place on the night of the 24th of September at the Club Financiero Génova in the capital of Spain.
